Atria Networks LP has acquired Halton Hills Fibre Optics Inc. (HHFOI), including its wireless division, Hummingbird Wireless, from Halton Hills Community Energy Corporation (HHCEC).
Steve McCartney, Atria’s President & CEO, said this purchase provides a critical link for markets in Central and Southwestern Ontario, as part of a corporate strategy to join utility telecom networks across the entire province.
Atria will soon directly connect Halton Hills and surrounding areas to existing fibre infrastructure in York Region, Simcoe County, Hamilton, Waterloo-Wellington, Peterborough and Ottawa regions, providing businesses and public sector customers with seamless access to one of Ontario’s largest fibre-optic networks. Atria will also continue to work on enhancing services brought to the Hummingbird wireless network customers.
