Architecture
Atria's fibre-optic network covers central Ontario including Waterloo Region, Guelph, Barrie, Vaughan, Markham, Orangeville, Hamilton and surrounding areas.

Our backbone uses a "meshed" architecture with diverse access to the core. Gb-Ethernet connections to separate and diverse Tier-I carriers, through multiple transport paths from Toronto, Buffalo and Detroit, ensure a robust and fault-tolerant network. Even in the event of a major break, customer impact is negligible.
We use Cisco Systems to drive this infrastructure. For us, Cisco Systems is more than a leader mentioned on the business pages. Cisco is our technology partner that gives Atria an edge in innovation and Quality of Service options.
From a security perspective, Atria uses unique VLAN bridging domains for each customer service. A VLAN ensures security by isolating each user's service, so no users outside the VLAN can communicate with them, and all broadcast and multicast traffic is contained within it.
